When the Sun Found Me — And a Butterfly Did Too

Today was one of those unexpectedly beautiful warm days that makes you stop, breathe, and remember that life still has sweetness tucked into ordinary moments. December has been doing what December does, but today? Today felt like a soft pause. Warm enough for shorts, a T-shirt, and a little sun on my skin — warm enough for my spirit to settle.
While I was outside soaking it all in, a butterfly flew so close to my face that I literally felt the air from its wings. And listen… I don’t take those little encounters lightly. Butterflies don’t waste their energy on chaos. They don’t hover near just anybody. They move toward peace, toward warmth, toward a certain kind of stillness.
And today, that stillness was me.
There was something about that moment that made me stop and smile. I don’t know if butterflies “mean” anything scientifically in that moment, but spiritually? Emotionally? Symbolically? Oh, they mean a whole lot.
A butterfly in your space is often seen as a sign of:
Growth and transformation
Being aligned with the path you’re walking
A reminder that you are becoming someone softer and stronger at the same time
A nod from the universe that you’re exactly where you need to be
And honestly, that’s exactly how the sun felt today too — like a warm confirmation. Like God saying, “Look at you. Look how far you’ve come. Look how your spirit is settling into itself.”
I stood there for a minute longer than usual. I let the breeze touch my skin. I let the sunlight bless my shoulders. I let that butterfly’s bold little visit sit with me. And in that moment I realized:
Sometimes healing looks like unexpected warmth on a winter day.Sometimes growth looks like a butterfly hovering near your face.Sometimes affirmation isn’t loud — it’s just nature gently brushing past you, reminding you to stay open.
I don’t know who needs this, but if you’re reading it, maybe this is your sign too. Your transformation is not on pause. Your joy isn’t gone. Your peace is still available. And life is still sending you little reminders that beauty, softness, and purpose still exist — even on days when you weren’t looking for them.
Today, the sun found me.And so did a butterfly. And maybe… so did a deeper version of myself.
I pray you have an amazing day,
Neika Dee
